Something different today

Well, here we are and its Mother's Day. Woke in Lucerne to a sunny morning and climbed aboard a 9-10 train from Lucerne to Zurich arriving at 10am. Spent some time at the station arranging our reserved seats for this week as the Italy ones needed to be pre-booked. This done we collected a map and negotiated the 5 minute walk to our hotel. Again Robbee our travel agent has done well for us and the Continental is close to the station but is extremely comfortabl;e and the receptionist even offered the free WIFI connection details without my even having to ask! Then came some welcome contact with Dee and Das and all the family for Mother's Day. With a bite to eat we then headed off for a bit of culture and walked up to the Kunsthaus Art Gallery and wandered through their permanent collection able to see Picasso, Monet, Rembrandt, Dali, Rodin, not to mention a whole pile of other masters dating back to the C15th. (10 franks each - not the sort of price you'd pay in Melbourne to see such a collection!!) Wandered back to the hotel and now for a rest before heading out to find something for tea. We leave at 9am on the train to Milan. We have been lead to understand that this section of the journey is the most vulnerable with a much greater risk of pick-pockets so we will have to be very much on guard.
We wonder how our new parents (Gladis and Manova) are on their first Mother's Day and no doubt will hear what the name of the baby is in due course.
