Alsace in France

We are just on the move after having the day in France. I'll load the photos tomorrow when the connection hopefully will be quicker. Last night was a relatively short trip from Strasbourg but it was a slower trip because we had to go through many locks that are on the RHine. We are about to go through another soon. Today was a bus trip across into France to a medieval village of Riquewihr - it is stork country along with the legend of the stork and babies. Saw some huge stork nests that were made on tops of chimneys and on a church. Also bottles and heart tiles on roofs of houses where the girls or boys are still eligible. This area is full of vineyards which were all starting to bud and tiny but properous villages which we had to negotiate with our 3 buses. Had lunch there and then on the bus to a larger city of Colmar - this was the place where the guy who designed the Statue of Liberty was born. We wandered the streets there as well and there was a cute little spot called Little Venice. It began to rain there but it didn't dampen our spirits. SOme lovely renaissance type buildings there as well although much of these areas were completiely devastated in WW2 and have been rebuilt.
