King Arthur to Cardiff

Up and left at 8-15 which seems to be the pattern. We retraced the road from Plymouth back up through Devon and in to Somerset arriving at Glastonbury a place full of history with many layers - the first point of Christianity in England. An interesting insight was of William Blake's "Jerussalem" And did those feet in ancient times - referring to an ancient legend that Jesus in the "missing years" visited here with his uncle Joseph of Arimathea. Glastonbury Abbey is a huge, or was a huge building in its time so we had time for a wander before moving onto the Wells and its unique cathedral for a photo and then to Bath. Famous not only for the Roman Baths but also some magnificent Georgian architecture - the Royal Cresecent and the Circus. The Baths were really interesting as they have done much excavation of the site and so the 19th century "additions" although they detract in some way are more than counted for in the self guided tour underground into many of the excavation sites that reveal the much greater extent of the original baths. Then came the drive across the big Severn Brdige over the Bristol Channel into South Wales and we are now esconced in a 5 star room at the Radisson ready to head out and find something for tea.
