berlin by Biped

April 7th:
Today's activity is a competition to guess how far we walked on this day!
After breakfast we caught the train the few stations to Alexanderplatz then shank's pony to:
Brandenburg Gate, Bundestag (Parliament House - but the queue wqas too long so we left) Memorial for Jewish people - a very powerful experience downstairs in the memorial centre - solemn, sombre, very emotional - how could such a thing happen????
Checkpoint Charlie - then a well deserved lunch.
Checkpoiint Charlie Museum, back to the Bundestag (Reichstag Building) quesue much shorter and we only waitid an hour to get in - magnificent views from up in the unique glass dome - spent about 1 1/2 hours there - then a 1.5+km walk back to the station where we had fish and chips/sal;ad for tea and then back here to Eastern COmfort at 8pm for a good shower and a 10 hour solid sleep!
